Library
The profile of library collection has been developing from 1953 already and it is aimed at the socio-economic geography, physical geography,
cartography, sociology and urban studies, and regional geography.
At the present it contains more than 30 000 items of monographies, encyclopedias,
dictionaries, wordbooks, anthologies and yearbooks, and over 100 titles of home and foreign periodicals, both special, technical and popular-scientific
journals. Substantial part of publications has been gained in trade from foreign exchange partners. The library includes also extensive archive of map
collections and historical and national atlases.
For the time being the library is accessible to the institute's employees only but introduction to wider
scholarly public and present loan for use is planned in the future.
